3D metrology at production level
Quantum Scan Sensor revolutionizes quality control
The Quantum Scan sensor uses an area scan camera that delivers images with a resolution of 4,480 pixels wide and a lateral resolution of 6 µm. With a height resolution of 10 nm per pixel and a measuring range of 0.8 mm, demanding applications can be detected with an image capture rate of 30,000 frames per second. Roman Wieser, Managing Director of Wickon Hightech: “The image is completely sharp in a measuring range of 0.8 mm.”
The patented photometric design enables the detection of a wide range of surfaces, including highly reflective, matt and tilted surfaces up to an inclination of +/- 10 degrees, similar to a reflective hemisphere. The high technical quality of the signal eliminates the need for complex noise suppression. “Each of the 4,480 recorded pixels represents a height value,” explains Roman Wieser, “we are not delivering a 3D point cloud, but a full-resolution 3D image.”
From semiconductors to e-mobility
Versatile applications in the electronics industry
With the Quantum Scan Sensor, Wickon Hightech is primarily targeting the semiconductor market, in particular the production of power modules in electromobility. However, it is also of great interest to laboratories and process development in the electronics industry, where high-resolution information is required in a short space of time. With this new product, Wickon Hightech is setting new standards in precision and performance.
The Quantum Scan sensor is a further development of the Speedcube sensor. Roman Wieser is convinced: “The Quantum sensor is a milestone in our mission to push the boundaries of sensor technology. This step shows that we are continuously working to offer our customers the best solutions and shape the future of electronics manufacturing.”
Wickon Hightech is a globally active company with high-end solutions for automated optical inspection (AOI) for industry. Since its foundation in 2006, the technology forge has succeeded in building up a broad product range and services for optimizing and safeguarding the production processes of electronic assemblies. The customer focus is on AOI systems in the automotive, renewable energy and medical sectors, e.g. special technical products such as hearing aids with 3D inspection for wire bonding.
